Pakistan thrashed Sri Lanka in the first Test match of the two-match Test series by (4) wickets on Thursday at Galle International Stadium to take 1-0 lead. Pakistan had maintained their dominance over Sri Lanka from the very beginning of the match. Deciding to bat after winning the match, Sri Lanka had scored (312) runs in their first innings, in reply, Pakistan had scored (461) runs which put them into a commanding position.
In their second Innings, Sri Lanka managed to get (279) runs which helped them set the target of (131) for Pakistan. Chasing the target, Pakistan didn’t face any difficulty with Imam-ul-Haq returning with half-century unbeaten. During their chase, however, Pakistan lost (6) wickets but Pakistan went over the line with four-wicket victory. Pakistan have registered the Test victory against Sri Lanka after a period of one year.
