No matter how many obstacles came in Virat Kohli’s cricketing journey he overcame them all to become one of the most successful batsmen in the world of cricket. It’s been a phenomenal journey for Virat Kohli as he has witnessed all the hardships but always managed to overcome them to maintain his exceptional form. India are now scheduled to come against West Indies in the first test match of the two-match series on Wednesday (12th July) at Dominica.
Current Indian head coach Rahul Dravid was Virat Kohli’s teammate when Kohli made his Test debut against West Indies in 2011 at the same venue. India last played at Dominica in 2011, that time Dravid was in the last leg of his cricketing career. Praising Kohli, Dravid said that he could see some talent in Kohli at that time.
“I remember Virat. It was his first Test series with the Indian team. He was this young kid who had done well in one day cricket. He was just finding his feet in Test cricket. But you could see some special talent out there,” said Dravid in a video posted by BCCI.
“You could see that he was going to be around there for a while. How long you can never say, but he can be proud of his journey. I certainly never thought I would coach and come here. It’s nice to his journey, seen him go from being a young player on that trip to now being a senior player on the trip. It’s been great for me to see that journey,” added Dravid.
